The Bitter Truth: Jakarta is a Greedy City
When a friend of mine who lives outside Jakarta came to visit me, I took him to some of the best hangouts in the capital. He also went to some of the city’s fancy malls to buy brand-name products.
Coming from a small city, he was amazed by the Big Durian’s glamor. He compared the capital’s energetic lifestyle to his hometown’s old-fashioned way of life.
“It feels good to live in this city,” he told me.
